As with most international adventures, a trip through South America should include copious amounts of eating. This continent is certain not to disappoint no matter what your tastes (but hopefully it includes a fondness for red meat and wine).

Buenos Aires, Argentina is one of the most metropolitan and beautiful cities in the world. Not only is it full of incredible museums, parks, street art, and cafes, but the food is fantastic. The varieties and flavors of steak are magnificent and you can truly taste a richness in the meat. To add an extra kick, be sure to add some chimichurri sauce. It is generally served on grilled meats and vegetables and made with parsley, oregano, garlic and oil.

After exhausting your flavor palate with red meats, turn to empanadas as the ideal savory alternative. With fillings like chicken and corn, they are a great snack with an afternoon coffee. Salad bars are also well perfected with delicious vegetables including marinated eggplant and generally light oil and vinegar dressings.

Argentina also boasts of sophisticated and scrumptious Italian cuisine, which of course wouldn’t be complete without gelato. This refreshing dessert is well loved and easy to find, especially in varieties of dulce de leche, Argentina’s favorite caramel flavor. And be sure not to miss out on the country’s most loved wine, Malbec, a robust red that Argentinians drink in copious amounts.

A close neighbor, Uruguay, is a charming extension from the bustling metropolis of Buenos Aires, and offers similar European-based cuisine. Uruguayans do tend to like their meat a bit more well-done than Argentinians but their love for wine and gelato is just as ubiquitous.

Brazil pairs its standing as the largest country on the continent with an equally grand scale of variety and complexity in tasty fare. Internationals are probably most familiar with Brazilian barbecue-style restaurants that feature servers who continuously come to the table with different cuts of meat, and have no concept of what it means to be full. Try picanha, a rump cut; alcatra, a top sirloin; and you can never go wrong with filet mignon. To clear your palate, taking advantage of the salad bar is a must.

A trip to Brazil wouldn’t be complete without sampling feijoda, a hearty stew cooked with black beans, pork and beef. This is said to be the national dish of Brazil, and like most meals in this country, be sure to come hungry.

If the red meat is becoming a bit monotonous, there is an abundance of delicious seafood dishes to be found. Sample pirarucu, the world’s largest freshwater fish found in The Amazon; or moqueca, a traditional Brazilian seafood dish in a coconut milk stew (which is a bit similar to Thai coconut curries).
One of the best ways to experience a country is to taste its street food. Acaraje is a northern Brazilian favorite that originated with slaves trafficked from the West African coast. It is made with peeled and pureed black eyed peas, formed into a ball and deep fried. It is then split open and slathered with a spicy fish paste, salad and shrimp; it’s the perfect snack on the go.

With an endless variety of flavors and options, South American cuisine will never leave you hungry, but always craving more.

From long dresses, gladiator sandals and hippie purses to hair bands and chunky jewelry, bohemian flair exudes a sensual, exotic, and even worldly vibe that is as fashion-forward as is it comfortable.

We’ve compiled below the must haves of a boho-chic look.

Ankle boots

To be a boho-extraordinaire you’ll need a pair of ankle boots in a neutral tone like brown, black or beige to pair with mini skirts, tucked into skinny jeans, or worn under one of your long, flowing dresses. Be sure to choose a pair with a low to medium heel height so you can spend all day picking flowers, and all night dancing under the stars.

Printed maxi dress

Another key item to top off the gypsy look is a patterned maxi dress. Don’t accessorize too much when you are wearing this piece as the dress itself is a full statement. Pair it with some gladiator sandals, a chunky necklace or bracelet, and perhaps a hat. Toss a denim vest or jacket on for cooler days.

A chic purse

Fringe galore. When it comes to boho-style purses, bags must maintain either fringe or bold patterns and hang from a shoulder. Though bohemian purses generally call for oversize, single-shoulder bags, a smaller leather purse would also work as well as a vintage clutch.

A floppy brim hat

A floppy brim hat is a staple for the bohemian queen. Pair it with a long, flowing maxi dress or flowy top with cutoff shorts, and big sunglasses and you’ve got yourself the perfect summer outfit.

Oversize scarves

A large, patterned scarf is the perfect accessory to keep warm on cool evenings, accentuate a simple outfit, or as a head wrap for ultimate gypsy flair. A key piece, the scarf can be worn with skinny jeans, a skirt, or long dress.

Accessories

When it comes to accessorizing your bohemian outfit, the possibilities are endless. From oversized earrings to bracelets or statement necklaces, you have a wide selection of boho jewelry to choose from. Opt for earthy colors and for accessories made from natural elements like wood, turquoise or coral.

Hair

Complete your gypsy look with a boho-chic hairstyle consisting of long, flowy waves or curles, reminiscent of wind-blown beach hair. Top it off with a flower crown, and you’re good to go!

Argan oil, sometimes called liquid gold, offers an all in one beauty routine from head-to-toe. Loaded with fatty acids, anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins that promote overall health, moisture, softening and protection from sun damage, the Morocco native is a go-to beauty elixir, free of toxins and parabens.

Often seen as “Moroccan oil,” argan comes from a nut that grows only in Southwestern Morocco. The nuts are hand-cracked with two stones by local Berber women in fair-trade cooperatives, a centuries-old technique. Rather than running it through a machine, the raw argan kernels are hand-extracted from the shell, hand-ground in a stone grinder, hand-kneaded for hours and first cold-pressed. One liter of oil takes one woman 3 days to make, which is why it’s so valuable. Argan is also sustainable since the forest in Morocco became a UNESCO-protected biosphere in 1998.

Below are some ways argan oil can be used for skin and hair:

Skin

1. Face Moisturizer: Moisturize with a few drops of argan, massing onto face and neck after cleansing morning and/or night. As it’s a dry oil, it quickly absorbs and doesn’t leave a greasy film. As a dry oil, it quickly absorbs and does not leave a greasy film. Argan can also be used as a serum under night cream.

2. Hydrating Toner: Drop some argan oil into your daily toner to tone and hydrate simultaneously, or create your own toner with a few drops of argan in orange blossom or rose water.

3. Brightening and rejuvenating face mask: Add a new drops of argan to your mask, or create your own with 3 drops of argan oil, 3 teaspoons of Greek-style yogurt, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply on a clean, dry face, leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

4. Face Glow: Mix in 1-2 drops of argan oil into your foundation, bronzer or tinted moisturizer for a luminous, dewy glow.

5. Body and Bath Oil: Massage a few drops into your skin, drop into the bath, or mix into body lotion for extra conditioning oomph. Argan oil is also gentle and safe for babies, and helps to minimize stretch marks!

6. Exfoliating Lip Scrub and Moisturizer: Add a few drops of argan oil and vanilla extract to fine brown sugar. In a circular motion, lightly massage into lips and rinse off for smooth, moisturized lips.

7. Cuticle and Heel Softener: Nourish cuticles and encourage nail growth with argan oil, or use it as an overnight treatment to nurture cracked heels by working a good amount onto your feet and covering with socks.

Hair

1. Hair Styling Shine: Argan oil tames frizz and adds shine to dry hair. Using a few drops, run your fingers through your hair for a flawless mane.

2. Leave-in Conditioner: Comb argan oil into damp hair, focusing on the ends and scalp to hydrate. This is especially beneficial for hair that undergoes daily blow-drying, curling or straightening.

3. Overnight Hair Treatment: Rub argan oil into hair, focusing on ends and scalp, and sleep with it wrapped overnight. Wash your hair in the morning for soft, luminous locks.

In this day and age, fashion trends seem to change almost every fortnight. With so much happening in the fashion industry, sometimes is hard to remember what’s in and what’s out or to keep up with all the fads and trends. But, if history has thought us something is that rules are made to be broken, especially fashion rules.

We’ve compiled some of the oldest style rules that you can start breaking.

Always match your belt and shoes

There was a time when one of the biggest fashion mistakes you could make was not matching your belt and shoes. Fortunately, that time is long gone and there’s a reason why. With so much prints, fabrics and colors, coordinating your accessories seams rather dull. So, don’t be afraid to “match” your pink shoes with your brown belt.

Horizontal stripes make you look wider

Word on the street is that horizontal stripes can look great on anyone. They do have the power to make you look wider but, if chosen carefully, they can work wonders. The secret is to choose the stripes suited for your body type. If, for example, you are tall and curvy, you should opt for thick stripes, whereas if you are short, you should choose thin stripes.

Mixing prints is a No-No

Truth be told, mixing prints can destroy an outfit, but only if they are both competing for the first place. If you choose to mix prints, make sure that one is bold, while the other one has a smaller pattern or a neutral color.

Petite girls can’t wear wide-leg pants or midi skirts

Except they can. Chose a skirt that hits just below the knee and that compliments your waits. Furthermore, if you are afraid wearing wide-leg pants will make you look stumpy, matched them with a pair of high heels.

Socks with sandals are a fashion faux pas

Not too long ago, combining socks and sandals was seen as a major fashion faux pas. Times have changed and what once was a serious style mistake is now a hip trend.

Socks and sandals are now a feature on catwalks and a trend celebrity fashionistas love.

Tall women should avoid wearing high heals

When you are a tall girl, wearing high heels isn’t about being even taller, it’s about looking good and adding a classy touch to your outfit. Find a style that suits you and walk with confidence!
